About NJ Randolph Distilling
Our History
The journey of NJ Randolph Distilling is one deeply steeped in family legacy and passion for the craft.

A Family Tradition Rekindled
NJ Randolph reignited the flame of a distilling tradition back in 2006 when he built his first still, driven by a curiosity to learn about its history and operation. This was more than a simple hobby – it was the rekindling of a family tradition that had lain dormant for decades.
In 2018, a significant turn of events took place. The last family member inhabiting Randolph’s maternal family’s homestead, Jeremy Hück (pronounced hook), left the property, leading Randolph’s mother and her siblings to liquidate the estate. In the process, they stumbled upon a thrilling find – a secret still, hidden away in the Hück granary walls. This historical treasure hadn’t been used for over 90 years and bore the marks of a time when distilling was a secretive and, during Prohibition, illicit affair.
About The Hücks
The Hücks were a family of German Catholics, but were no strangers to the world of spirits; NJ Randolph’s grandfather was renowned for his wine. It’s likely that the still was operational in the Prohibition days, silently crafting liquid gold within its confines.
Today, NJ Randolph is reviving this rich family legacy and opening the distillery doors to the public. His goal? To share the time-honored family tradition of distillation, bring everyone together to celebrate good times, and let the history of NJ Randolph Distilling continue to live on!
